Yesterday we had the pleasure of being asked demonstrate some Balanchine variations at the Leepa Rattner museum for their book club who just finished reading a book about the brilliant choreographer, George Balanchine.
Not only was this experience great for our dancers to learn a fun variation and perform in our community, but we got to share with this lovely group of people about our mission, our vision for this company, and answer some questions about our company specifically and about the ballet world as a whole.
Our Artistic Director, Anne Carollo had an hour long conversation with the members of this book club who all care deeply about the arts in our community. They were eager to learn with lots of questions, and they were so appreciative of our dancers for volunteering their time so they could conclude this book in a really special way.
These experiences are why we do what we do. Everytime we get in front of an audience, we learn more about the needs and wants of the people in our community who are invested in the arts, and we get a better idea of what we need to do to keep moving our company forward! π©°π
