What a way to close out the season! Fox Park was packed tonight for LaPorte’s legendary Middle Of The Road Band Spike and the Spitwads, bringing their classic rock and rolling right through their entire set — a true crowd favorite after all these years. Eddie J & the Fiduciaries set the stage perfectly with a solid, rock-based five-piece sound during the pre-concert hour.

We also had poet Matt Buchanan sharing his work with the crowd, and the pleasure of Nancy from Addie Acres with her award-winning, beautiful photography on display.

What a night at Fox Park! Cripple Creek brought their signature harmonies to the stage, moving through a wide range of acoustic folk, gospel, rock, and mellow tunes made for unwinding. They followed a great opening set from 350 West and it was a calm summer evening — with the rain holding off — perfect for sitting back and soaking in the chill music under the stars.

Huge thanks to the Guardian Riders for keeping concessions rolling all night, to artist Sam Stroud for the ‘affordable art’ on display, and to poet Evan Wooding for sharing about half a dozen short poems written by a local veteran. Tonight’s concert had something for everyone! 🎶

The jazzy opening sounds of Music Therapy got the evening started strong, followed by The Aftermath’s huge variety of catchy favorites that had the dance floor packed! 💃🕺

The night also included some cute, artsy fun with Stargirl Crafts and a free KidsArt activity for our younger concertgoers. 🎨💕

After a horrible week of weather last week, it was so wonderful to be back at Fox Park! ❤️🎶

New Groove opened with a great set of music and Trouble Blind brought an energetic performance that was a true celebration of what it means to have great local talent shared with a community in need of something fun, free, and joyful in our beautiful park.

A special thank-you to the La Porte Park Department and our Mayor for making the cleanup of Fox Park a priority and for helping promote this week’s events. We are so grateful for your support in helping our community come together again.

POSTPONED!!!! After the widespread storms that have impacted our local communities, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Worship by the Water. Fox Park was hit hard, like so much of our area, and remains without power. We are thankful to have worked with the Parks Department to reschedule the event for September 11.

But we also know that right now, many of us need some encouragement, prayer, and a reminder that we are not walking through this alone.

So tonight, we are opening the doors of Journey Church for an Evening of Worship & Prayer from 6:30–8:00 PM.

Our church has power, and you are welcome to come for any reason. Need a place to charge your phones? Come on in. Need some air conditioning? Come on in. Need a place to pray, worship, or simply be around people who care? Come on in.

There is no agenda...just a place to gather, worship, pray, and encourage one another.
