What a 2026 season, Arts in the Park family! 🎉

Before we close things up for winter, a huge thank you to all our volunteers who made this another great year at the concession stand — and to our tremendous community for all their support.

This week the crew tackled end-of-season cleanup to get everything winterized: fridges scrubbed out, the hot dog station cleaned up, and the windows and counters given a final wipe-down before we lock up for the year.

Thanks to Joanne for coming out to help, and to our Executive Director Julia for rolling up her sleeves right alongside her. Onto next season! 🌭🎶

TODAY IS THE DAY! WORSHIP BY THE WATER IS HERE!

After the widespread storms impacted our area, Fox Park wasn’t in shape to host our original event due to storm damage, so we had to POSTPONE, but TODAY is the new date! We’re so excited to finally gather with you for Worship in the Park on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM CDT / 7:00 PM EDT at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in Fox Park!

Bring a lawn chair, blanket, or simply enjoy sitting in the grass as we lift up the name of Jesus, the King of Kings! 👑 There’s no agenda and no sermon, just worship and a community coming together to celebrate God’s goodness.

🤟 ASL interpretation will be available at the front left of the stage, and Spanish will be incorporated into a few of the songs selected by our Worship Team.

🍿 We’re also partnering with Arts in the Park, so concessions will be available for purchase throughout the evening! Cash & card both accepted. What's available? Check out the event page for all the details!

What a way to close out the season! Fox Park was packed tonight for LaPorte’s legendary Middle Of The Road Band Spike and the Spitwads, bringing their classic rock and rolling right through their entire set — a true crowd favorite after all these years. Eddie J & the Fiduciaries set the stage perfectly with a solid, rock-based five-piece sound during the pre-concert hour.

We also had poet Matt Buchanan sharing his work with the crowd, and the pleasure of Nancy from Addie Acres with her award-winning, beautiful photography on display.

Huge thanks to the Black Sheep Car Club for running concessions all night, to our season sponsors — Health Foundation of La Porte, Unity Foundation of La Porte County and Carolyn Pahs — for supporting the entire series, and to tonight’s evening sponsors, Debi and Dave Thornburg and Edward Jones Financial Advisors serving La Porte County for helping make this finale possible. What a great summer it has been!

What a night at Fox Park! Cripple Creek brought their signature harmonies to the stage, moving through a wide range of acoustic folk, gospel, rock, and mellow tunes made for unwinding. They followed a great opening set from 350 West and it was a calm summer evening — with the rain holding off — perfect for sitting back and soaking in the chill music under the stars.

Huge thanks to the Guardian Riders for keeping concessions rolling all night, to artist Sam Stroud for the ‘affordable art’ on display, and to poet Evan Wooding for sharing about half a dozen short poems written by a local veteran. And a super big shoutout to our sponsors — Unity Foundation of La Porte County, Health Foundation of La Porte, The Floor Store and Carolyn Pahs — for making nights like this possible. Special appreciation to everyone who came out tonight!

The evening will also include a poetry reading by Matt Buchanan, an art exhibit by Addie Acres, the national anthem performed by the Middle of the Road trio!
