Gerlach's Bowling Center

Gerlach's Bowling Center We are an eighteen lane bowling center that accommodates the whole family for open bowling or league
(636)

Although our location was built after Bill & Jack Gerlach returned from World War II; however, we say that Gerlach's Bowling Center opened in 1919. The original 4 bowling lanes in Lapeer opened in 1919 above the current Oddfellows building and Bill & Jack worked there before they left for the war. Even though our name was Lapeer Recreation until the late 1980s everyone refer to us as Gerlach's, so

a name change to reduce confusion made sense. When Bill Gerlach's son, Daniel and his wife Vicki, started to take ownership the place really started to change and became a more modern family atmosphere. We are constantly renovating and keeping up with some of the greatest new features in the business. Gerlach's Bowling Center has features for every type of bowler. Our features include: automatic scoring & pinsetters, brand new synthetic lanes and approaches, automatic bumpers (for smaller bowlers), rental shoes sizes toddler size 6 to a mens 20, a bowling pro shop with an extensive inventory, a grill (snack bar), and a bar with a large assortment of bottled beers.

This is Hunter and he recently joined our team. He also would like to do some coaching while he is home from college. If you are looking to spend a little time getting some pointers from a young well accomplished bowler, reach out to him.

Thank you for the appreciation post Regina.

We value our special needs bowlers just as much as some of our other programs (adults, seniors, and youth). We have been having groups coming bowling with us for a very long time. Groups such as CMH, Growth & Opportunity, Teamwork, Life Skills, Stepping Stones, and group homes from as far as Vassar and Capac.

We know these bowlers are ecstatic to come bowling and it is the highlight of their week. Those amazing desserts are usually brought in from the Smoke family from the North Branch bakery.

Over Easter weekend we had our 8th annual Morgan Fike 9 pin no -tap Adult / youth tournament. Well the results were finished about a week ago and we want to give a shout out to our scholarship winners:..
Our top boy and girl scores get 20 scholarship points each.
Nick Bontrager and Jaxon Bontrager with score of 1736
Tony Asaro and Bellah Asaro with score of 1636..
Then the next highest boy and girl in two age divisions receive 10 points each.
Aaron Rutkowski and Logan Watson with score of 1707
Brent Green and Xander Smith with score of 1661
Doug Switniak and Skylar Scott with score of 1582

Then there were four names randomly drawn for the 5 scholarship points each

Thank you to everyone who participated in both the adult/youth and adult portion of this tournament to support this scholarship opportunity and making it a fun way of honoring a pass youth bowler.
