It's that time of year again! Time for Mid-Michigan to vote for the Top of the Town! This is such a great way to recognize local businesses for accomplishments both big and small. If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to cast some votes. You don't have to vote in every category, but it'd be a lot cooler if you did!

Scream Queen Productions is honored to be nominated in several categories this year. Please consider us for best podcast, best bookstore, best festival, best gift shop, best haunted attraction, and anywhere else you see us nominated!

Also, the amazing Erica Jo Photography who took the photos for Haunted Lansing and The Cereal Killer Chronicles is up for Best Services: Photographers.

And former So Dead co-host Dani Fairman is nominated under Best People: Realtors.

Get to voting! We appreciate you! https://www.lansingcitypulse.com/tott2020

If those avenues don't work for you, the book is available on Amazon. If you buy it there, PLEASE leave a review!

The evil empire continues to expand!

Alright, alright, alright! Time for that BIG NEWS we've been alluding to for the past couple of weeks. We love our new home in REO Town so much that we're expanding! Yes, already!

The opportunity arose to expand into the suite adjacent to ours, and we snapped it up faster than an alligator snaps up raw hot dogs in the dark. (Have you ever fed a swamp full of alligators hot dogs by flashlight? We have. It was weird. Florida, amirite?)

We are VERY excited to announce our newest venture, right next door to Deadtime Stories at 1134 S. Washington Ave: THE SCREAMATORIUM. For your convenience, there will be an interior pass-through between Deadtime Stories and The Screamatorium. What can you expect to find at REO Town's newest retail establishment? More of the fun, weird, nostalgic gifts and treats you've come to love Deadtime Stories for, plus a whole lot more! We're expanding our sweets and treats section, and possibly even adding a little something frozen.

We are aiming to open at the beginning of July, but will keep you updated as things progress! In anticipation of shifting displays around and rearranging, we'll be running some sales this weekend- select new and used books, bookmarks, mugs, prints and more, 25-50% off!

We'll see you soon at the new location, and until then, we'll be holding down the fort at 1132 S. Washington for all of your true crime needs and wants. We're open Wed-Sat 11-7, Sundays 11-5.

This was an important episode. 🖤

It's True Crime Tuesday! In the 1920s and 30s, an ultra-violent sect of the K*K called the Black Legion ran rampant in the Midwest. When a proud black man and activist moved his family to Lansing, Michigan to escape death threats from white supremacists, he had no idea he was walking into a snake pit. The violence that ensued destroyed a family and shaped the life of a man who went on to shake the world. You can find So Dead wherever you get your podcasts.

The news is, there is no news.

The news is, there is no news.

2021 UPDATE: We've been holding off on announcements, because we so hoped to have good news to give regarding our 2021 schedule. While restrictions continue to ease and the COVID situation continues to improve, we have made the tough decision to cancel the 2021 season out of an abundance of caution. At this point, we are planning to resume tours in the spring of 2022, but that is subject to change.

We can't resume the tours until we can safely put 30+ strangers on a charter bus together for several hours at a time, and we're just not there yet. As soon as we start booking tours again, you'll be the first to know.

For those with gift certificates- those will be valid for one year from the date the tours resume, whenever that may be.

In the meantime, you can read about many of the locations on our tours in the book Haunted Lansing, or listen to stories about Michigan hauntings and true crime on So Dead Podcast. You can stop in to visit us at Deadtime Stories: True Crime and Other Books in REO Town for all kinds of Mitten weirdness. And you can catch us at A Festival of Oddities on Labor Day weekend.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are just as frustrated with the lack of spooky tours in Mid-Michigan as you are. We'll see you soon.

The Cereal Killer Chronicles- coming to a bookstore near you this summer!

At the convergence of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo rivers lays Cereal City, USA. Named after a bloody battle between natives and land surveyors, Battle Creek is most famously the home to the Kelloggs, a family of eccentric inventors and entrepreneurs who would go on to rule the world of breakfast foods. But before their worldwide fame came the sanitarium. And the questionable deaths. And the fires. And after their downfall came the complicated legacy that would result in tragedy for decades to come. Author and podcaster Jenn Carpenter reveals how cereal, Battle Creek’s lifeblood, also served as the root cause of bloodshed in the city many times over.
