Isolation can heighten the impact of bullying. Military teens navigating unique social struggles often benefit immensely from peer groups who truly "get" what it means to move every few years. Finding a community where they belong is a powerful protective factor. Bloom Military Teens Program is a storytelling and community-building web platform run through the National Military Family Association that gives military teens a voice, peer connection, and relatable advice on military life.

For military teens and kids staying connected with friends across distant states or deployed parents, screens are a lifeline, but they can also open the door to cyberbullying. Keep an open dialogue about digital footprints and ensure your children know how to block, report, and save evidence of online harassment. This federal, multi-agency website provides clear definitions of cyberbullying, state laws, prevention tactics for school and online, and concrete steps for kids and parents to take when targeted.

Moving past simple bystander behavior can change a school's culture completely. Teaching our children how to safely step in or seek help when they see others being targeted builds incredible resilience. Check out toolkits built specifically to help military kids handle complex social landscapes and conflict resolution.
