Statement from Tim Daman, President & CEO, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce: University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing Surgery Center Groundbreaking

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate today’s groundbreaking for the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing Surgery Center at 909 E. Michigan Avenue. This new outpatient facility represents a meaningful expansion of accessible, high-quality healthcare for our residents and reflects the continued strength of UM Health-Sparrow’s commitment to this community.

Part of a broader $143 million capital investment that also includes a new behavioral health hospital, this project signals something important: Greater Lansing is a region where major health systems are planting roots and building for the future. That kind of commitment strengthens our quality of life, supports our workforce, and makes our region more competitive for years ahead.

Investments in healthcare infrastructure are investments in our region’s long-term vitality. We congratulate the entire UM Health-Sparrow team and look forward to the care this facility will provide our community.
