The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomes new Lansing region executives leading our community forward at the Executive Welcome program on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Lansing. The event brings together new business executives in our community for a chance to hear directly from this incoming group of local leaders. Part networking reception, part CEO introductions and Q&A, Executive Welcome highlights the vision these leaders bring to the table.

Thank you to U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin for joining the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce for an important conversation about the future of Michigan’s automotive industry and the bipartisan Connected Vehicle Security Act of 2026, which she introduced with U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio.

For the Lansing region, this issue hits close to home. General Motors, our automotive suppliers, manufacturers, small businesses and thousands of workers are all part of an industry that serves as an economic backbone for our region. We were also pleased to have representatives from the UAW join today’s conversation. Business and labor share an important interest: ensuring American companies and American workers have a level playing field to compete and win.

The Connected Vehicle Security Act addresses the growing economic and national security challenges posed by connected vehicles, software, hardware and critical technologies associated with China and other covered countries.
But our focus must extend beyond what we keep out of the United States. It must also be about what we build here.

We want the next generation of automotive manufacturing, technology and supply-chain investment happening in Michigan and across America creating jobs, strengthening our communities and ensuring our workers remain at the center of the future of this industry. We appreciate Senator Slotkin and Senator Moreno’s bipartisan leadership on an issue that is critically important to Michigan’s economic future.

When our manufacturers win, our suppliers win. Our workers win. And communities like the Lansing region win.

On Thursday, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a GROW Series panel addressing one of today's most pressing workplace challenges: fostering trust and collaboration among as many as five generations working side by side.

The discussion, "Building Trust Across Five Generations," brought together regional leaders to examine generational differences in the workplace and share practical strategies for bridging them. As Bobby Hoffman, of Thought Partner Services, noted, this is a conversation that surfaces repeatedly in his work with organizations throughout Mid-Michigan.
