Don't miss the third movement of Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante on and more!

Featuring Camerata Michigan, Tigran Shiganyan, Yvonne Lam, Suren Bagratuni, Nermis Mieses, and Michael Kroth, performing Haydn’s rarely performed and vibrant Sinfonia Concertante!

Written in 1792 during Haydn’s first triumphant visit to London, the Sinfonia Concertante is one of his most urbane and sociable works. Cast for four soloists — oboe, bassoon, violin, and cello— it belongs to a hybrid genre that was enormously fashionable in Paris and London at the time, sitting midway between a symphony and a concerto.

Two weeks since release and the initial stock of albums are almost gone, with shipments to San Diego, Chicago, Philadelphia, Madrid, and all the way to Australia (there are plenty more in the back up stocks)! Much appreciated everyone, thanks for the love. The astronomical instruments pictured on the album are indeed mine. I purchased them in Venice a few years ago, and drove them all the way to Michigan and back for the recording. I’ll be posting a video about them soon.

Blue Griffin is thrilled today to release “Wide Grey Skies: Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poetry through song” from soprano Amalia Osuga and pianist Aimee Fincher!

🎧 Listen now on all top platforms ➡️ https://orcd.co/bv4kaqx

“When I began reading Millay’s poetry in early 2022, I was immediately struck by her ability to connect images of the natural world to elements of the human condition. I also greatly admired how boldly she described her experiences as a woman — especially given the time in which she lived.” —Amalia Osuga

These songs, which span almost a century, include an incredible variety of styles and set texts from every era of the poet’s life. From unpublished gems found in archives that were composed during Millay’s life to bold and bombastic 21st-century compositions, each song has its own unique story.
