Presented by the Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), A Bit of the Arts is a two-day winter holiday festival held on Black Friday and the following Saturday in the historic 20th Century Club. The event averages 45 artist vendors and welcomes about 1,000 attendees, creating a festive space for holiday shopping to support Lansdowne's creative economy. Featuring live performances from a dozen musicians, the festival is a vibrant celebration of diverse artistic and cultural expressions. In addition to vendors and musicians, A Bit of the Arts showcases the work of over 200 local student artists from eight nearby schools, with artwork juried by a panel of art teachers. Committed to equity, the event ensures diverse representation and inclusion among all participants, fostering a community where creativity thrives and everyone’s voice is celebrated.

✨ Artist of the Week: Liz Steele Coats
A longtime member of the Lansdowne arts community, Liz creates fine and whimsical sterling silver and copper jewelry, garden mobiles, and pottery inspired by creativity, craftsmanship, and a love of handmade art.

Liz lived in Lansdowne for 36 years and remains deeply connected to the community. She founded A Bit of the Arts Festival 25 years ago and has shared her talents as an artist, educator, and community builder at countless local events over the years. Though she now lives a bit farther away, Lansdowne is still home in her heart.

Come say hello, browse her beautiful work, and help us celebrate someone who has played such an important role in shaping Lansdowne's creative community. 💛
