Gallery 26 is ramping up for its next show”,Between Seeing And Feeling”. This will be a solo show of Philadelphia artist, Maria Ansh whose work I first saw 3 years ago. Maria’s paintings skillfully weave a path to the human heart and all of darks and lights contained there. This piece, “Shadow On A Walk In The Village”, considers a theme long explored in the arts, the “other self”. Join us on FRIDAY, SEPT. 11TH, 5-8pm,for the opening of Maria’s show at Gallery 26!

Gallery 26’s September show “Between Seeing And Feeling” will open Friday Sept. 11th exhibiting the work of artist Maria Ansh
Maria Ansh (b. 1992) lives and works in Philadelphia. She studied graphic design in Moscow and spent over a decade creating street graffiti, an experience that shaped her approach to color, form, and an expressive painterly language.
Working in painting and drawing, Ansh explores the multiplicity of identity, vulnerability, solitude, and the shifting boundary between inner perception and the external world. Her portraits and surreal spaces are inhabited by personal archetypes, symbolic figures, and strangers, drawn from memories of both the Russian countryside and urban life.
Her work is characterized by saturated color, emotional intensity, and fluid distortion. She has exhibited at contemporary art centers and venues in Moscow, as well as at ARC Gallery in Chicago.

This painting titled “Butterfly” is one of a series by artist Mariia Ansh.
