What an unforgettable Festival experience 🤍

We are incredibly grateful to for bringing together such a meaningful, inspiring, and beautifully run week. The opportunity for our dancers to grow, be challenged, and connect with artists from across the country is something we never take for granted.

A heartfelt thank you to the faculty and Festival Artistic Directors, especially .ish for your guidance, artistry, and the care you pour into each dancer. Your impact reaches far beyond the stage.

To and the entire lighting and production crew—your work elevated every moment and created such a professional, magical environment for these dancers to shine.

And to the many volunteers behind the scenes—thank you for the countless hours, organization, and heart it takes to make something like this possible.

What an incredible evening last night at our Auction & Gala ✨

We are so deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our amazing community. From the energy in the room to the generosity shown throughout the night, it was a beautiful reminder of what makes WIDT so special—community, connection, and a shared love for the arts.

To everyone who came out in support—thank you for believing in our dancers and in the work we do. Because of you, we are able to continue creating meaningful performance opportunities and nurturing the next generation of artists.

And to our dancers—your artistry, dedication, and heart were on full display. You are the reason we do this ❤️

What an incredible weekend at WIDT ✨.

We began by welcoming our Festival Artistic Director from The Ballet Alliance, who joined us to teach a master class and evaluate our dancers and selected works for this year’s festival. It’s always an inspiring and valuable opportunity for our dancers to receive professional feedback and continue growing through this incredible collaboration.

We then held a special Emerging Choreographer Viewing, where our dancers shared new works created through their own artistic voices. Watching these young artists step into the role of choreographer—exploring movement, storytelling, and collaboration—was truly inspiring. The future of dance is bright.

Next, we welcomed back several Whidbey Island Dance Theatre alumni for the first rehearsal of this year’s Alumni Piece, which will debut at our Celebration of Dance performances this May. Seeing generations of Island Dance artists back in the studio together is always something special.

And the excitement continues…

One of the works created through our Emerging Choreography Program will also be featured at our upcoming Auction Gala, supporting the continued growth of our dancers and programs.

Come see vignettes of upcoming performances in our spring Celebration of Dance. Bid on homemade scrumptious desserts made by our own young dancers. Battle it out silently with fellow attendees bidding for amazingly valuable items. Drink and dine all to raise funds in support of our local young dancers developing their self discipline, artistry, and confidence to succeed, while affording them opportunities to share their growth and brilliance with our community through professional-quality productions.
