Christmas in July?!🎄

Yesterday, some of our WIDT dancers had the exciting opportunity to work with film director, Cathy Yonek and writer, Kim Hornsby on their upcoming movie, Starry Eyed Christmas, filmed right here on Whidbey Island!

We are so proud of our dancers for representing our community and can’t wait to see the magic they helped bring to life on screen. ✨🎬

Our dancers portrayed Clara and her cousins, performing “March” from The Nutcracker for the film.

Fan break!

WIDT Artistic Director, Emma Patty-Caldwell putting the finishing touches on choreography, setting the dancers and making final adjustments before the director called, “Action!”

Keep your eyes out for the films release in December!✨🎄🎥

What an unforgettable Festival experience 🤍

We are incredibly grateful to for bringing together such a meaningful, inspiring, and beautifully run week. The opportunity for our dancers to grow, be challenged, and connect with artists from across the country is something we never take for granted.

A heartfelt thank you to the faculty and Festival Artistic Directors, especially .ish for your guidance, artistry, and the care you pour into each dancer. Your impact reaches far beyond the stage.

To and the entire lighting and production crew—your work elevated every moment and created such a professional, magical environment for these dancers to shine.

And to the many volunteers behind the scenes—thank you for the countless hours, organization, and heart it takes to make something like this possible.

We leave feeling inspired, proud, and deeply appreciative of this community. Until next time ✨
