Metalsmith Mary Ellen O’Connor makes unique works in 24k gold on polished copper. Following her passion for animals, nature, and wildlife her works exude a calm elegance.

After applying the gold leaf design a process of heat treating the copper allows her to create iridescent color patterns, further enhancing the gold image.

Our Featured artist September 2 - 28: “SUSAN R. LYTLE - Hecate’s Garden”

Opening Reception: Saturday, Sept. 5th from 5 to 7 PM

For this exhibition Susan R. Lytle has painted fifteen small works that offers us a close up look at the colors, patterns, and textures of our flower relatives.

Also new, and shown here, are four still life paintings of small objects found around the house, a favorite subject of the artist.

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama worked across a wide range of media, including installations, sculptures, paintings, performances, and writing. Her work is known for its immersive, mirrored environments and repetitive patterns, often featuring polka dots. Kusama is considered a pioneer of Pop, performance, and installation art. She died on Aug. 14 in Tokyo. She was 97.

Rob Schouten Gallery has been proud to represent renowned painter Alfredo Arreguín’s work for some years. His passing was a great loss to us all. During his long and prolific career, Arreguín received many prestigious awards, and has been featured in major international exhibitions, including the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

An inspired artist, Alfredo painted up until three weeks before his passing. He was a very generous and kind person and opened many doors for Hispanic and Latino artists.

We are tremendously fortunate to still have a number of Alfredo’s remarkable paintings, including this beautiful piece…
