Owning a quilt shop isn't an easy job.
Sometimes it's opening the shop doors when you're tired.
Working when your hands hurt because they need the quilt by Friday for a graduation, wedding, or new baby and brought it in at the last minute.
Helping a fellow quilter figure out what the pattern writer meant by all that yadda yadda yadda.
Trying new things before recommending them to your customers.
Did our shop start out teaching quilting and health tips?
No.
That was 20 years ago, before I discovered the missing piece of the puzzle that allows me to still cut fabric without hurting and allows my brain to decipher the yadda yadda yadda that used to feel confusing.
That's why you may overhear us talking about different projects and what we're working on... or how we slept the night before.
Because it's about helping other quilters enjoy their time quilting without the aches, pains, and frustrations that can get in the way of doing what they love.
After all, quilting should be about creativity, friendship, and the joy of making something beautiful.
Not worrying about whether your hands, back, or energy levels will cooperate.
I know what it's like when your hands hurt after cutting fabric all day.
I also know what it's like when they don't.
In our shop, we teach quilting and how to feel better because we found the missing piece.
