Lander Pipe Band We are a competition and community pipe band in Lander, WY. We honor Veterans, Military, and 1st Responders.

The Band’s Goal is to uphold the musical traditions of Scotland by providing high quality music to our community. The Lander Valley Fire Department (LVFD) Pipe Band also exists to support our local firefighters, law enforcement officers, and members of the military whenever needed. The means to reach the band’s goals include teaching beginners, performing with local Honor and Color Guards, and performing in public and local events in Lander, Fremont County, and beyond. The motivation to carry on this tradition stems from the rich Scottish heritage in Fremont County brought here by Scottish immigrants and sheepherders as well as the strong connection that Pipe and Drum bands have with firefighters, military and law enforcement personnel.

We wanted to share a recent story to highlight how Wyoming for Heroes steps in to assist in times of need! When a Wyoming veteran faced an unexpected financial hardship, it put him at risk for homelessness. A veteran’s social worker reached out to us to see if we could help.

We partnered with the American Legion to provide financial assistance and help this WY veteran transition into stable, safe housing.

He wanted everyone to know he is very grateful for our commitment and the support we get from our Wyoming community! ❤️🇺🇸

Ingrid (age 9) earned her bagpipe pin today. The pin is earned by learning all the essential embellishments on the practice chanter. Congratulations Ingrid! Juliet, an advanced piper (Gr 3 soloist) in our Gr 4 band, also received her pin today (having earned it years ago, but we had run out of pins at the time)! Better late than never. Juliet is one of our amazing youth piping instructors.
