Lander Pipe Band

Lander Pipe Band We are a competition and community pipe band in Lander, WY. We honor Veterans, Military, and 1st Responders.

The Band’s Goal is to uphold the musical traditions of Scotland by providing high quality music to our community. The Lander Valley Fire Department (LVFD) Pipe Band also exists to support our local firefighters, law enforcement officers, and members of the military whenever needed. The means to reach the band’s goals include teaching beginners, performing with local Honor and Color Guards, and per

forming in public and local events in Lander, Fremont County, and beyond. The motivation to carry on this tradition stems from the rich Scottish heritage in Fremont County brought here by Scottish immigrants and sheepherders as well as the strong connection that Pipe and Drum bands have with firefighters, military and law enforcement personnel.

The Lander Pipe Band performs at 80 community events annually including Veteran and 1st responder memorials, Veterans Day Ceremony, July 4th parade, Community Christmas Chorale, Lander Art District Street Fair, LightUp Lander parade, Showboat Retirement Home, Westward Heights Care Center, and countless other events. The band membership is 70%!youth. Instruction of all band members is free. The band is currently fundraising to provide instruments and uniforms to 16 new youth band members!
