Lander Pipe Band

Lander Pipe Band We are a competition and community pipe band in Lander, WY. We honor Veterans, Military, and 1st Responders.

The Band’s Goal is to uphold the musical traditions of Scotland by providing high quality music to our community. The Lander Valley Fire Department (LVFD) Pipe Band also exists to support our local firefighters, law enforcement officers, and members of the military whenever needed. The means to reach the band’s goals include teaching beginners, performing with local Honor and Color Guards, and per

forming in public and local events in Lander, Fremont County, and beyond. The motivation to carry on this tradition stems from the rich Scottish heritage in Fremont County brought here by Scottish immigrants and sheepherders as well as the strong connection that Pipe and Drum bands have with firefighters, military and law enforcement personnel.

The Lander Pipe Band had the honor of performing at the Wyoming State Fire Fighter Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and the Firefighter Memorial. We are grateful for the sacrifices made by our State’s Fire Fighters and all 1st Responders. Our condolences to the families of those Fire Fighters who passed away last year.

15 Lander Pipe Band members attended the school at SilverStar British Columbia in Canada July5-10, 2026. We learned plenty of new skills. All participants “leveled up”. Thank you, Jack Lee and J. Reid Maxwell for running this fantastic school. And thanks to all the instructors. Www.phsd.net
