Whenever I visit other places, I make it a point to support local businesses—not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because that’s where the real flavor lives.

Today’s stop: my very favorite local coffee shop… that just happens to be a truck. Great coffee, great people, and exactly the kind of small business worth going out of your way for.

If you’re nearby, go find and caffeinate accordingly.

Spring finally has me back out in the shop, and I’ve been putting fresh ideas to work.

I’ve got new pieces in progress, more projects on the bench, and a lot of Wyoming-inspired work coming together. Keep an eye out for upcoming pieces that will be posted for sale, a few donation items for good causes, and some random free art pieces that may start showing up around Lander and the surrounding area.

Shop dust is flying again. More to come.

Left: a photo I took in 2022 at Poipu on Kauai’s south shore.
Right: the acrylic painting I just finished tonight after starting it this past January.

It’s pretty satisfying to see a memory go from camera lens to canvas, and even better to finally call it finished.

After many years away from painting, this piece feels like a real step in the right direction.

It is not about perfection. It is about returning to something I used to love and realizing the instinct is still there. The light, the movement, the color, all of it reminded me that starting again does not mean starting over.

This one feels like a beginning.

I have not painted in many years, so this feels important to me. What I see in this piece is a step back toward something I missed. The light, the movement in the water, and the warmth in the sky remind me that the instinct is still there. It may be a return, but it also feels like a beginning.

Every piece starts a little rough around the edges.
This one is just being honest about it.

Layers, angles, contrast—and a growing pile of sawdust that suggests I’ve made several life choices today. Still, the geometry is doing what it’s supposed to do, and the reclaimed wood is behaving… mostly.

In progress, but headed somewhere interesting.
Back to the bench before I “just tweak one more thing.”

Still in the “hold it up, squint, and decide if I love it” phase.

This one’s coming together piece by piece—reclaimed wood, laser work, and a whole lot of Wyoming pride.
Lander, Wyoming. Coordinates included, because if you know… you know.

Shop projects like this are why sawdust ends up everywhere except where you swept five minutes ago. Worth it.

🪵🐾 When Art Meets Dog (and Dog Wins Round One)

A while back, I made this piece for a friend. It hung proudly on their wall — until it had an unexpected collision with their dog (and gravity).

They brought it back to me for a little Wyoming-style restoration. The first photo shows the aftermath — a sad pile of splintered wood and good intentions. Then came the workshop triage: glue, clamps, patience, and a touch of stubbornness.

Now it’s back in one piece — a little wiser, a little tougher, and with a story that’s now part of its character.

Because around here, when art meets dog, art gets rebuilt stronger.

🌲⛰️ New Wood Art Drop: "Timberline Peaks" ⛰️🌲

Inspired by the rhythm of the mountains and the raw beauty of reclaimed wood, this piece brings nature’s geometry to life. Every line, angle, and grain in this handcrafted wall art tells a story—of trails walked, summits reached, and the peace found in wild places. 🪵✨

Made from a blend of natural and repurposed wood, this layered mountain design adds rustic charm and a modern edge to any space. Whether you're a mountain lover, adventurer at heart, or just someone who appreciates clean design with character, this one's for you.
