Servant Stage Company began unofficially in 2011 as a group of friends donated their time and talents to rehearse and perform concerts for local retirement communities. The shows often featured a blend of professional performers and local music students sharing the stage together. The students were able to shine in front of a friendly and welcoming audience, the professionals enjoyed the chance to

serve, and our audiences were delighted by the unique combination of musicality and theatricality– including costumes, choreography, and talented casts of all ages! Something special began to grow, and over the next few years we performed four or five concerts each year (including performances for other local nursing homes, churches, and schools). In 2013 we officially took on the name Servant Stage Company and incorporated to become a non-profit organization. Our group of friends has expanded, the number of performances and performance venues have increased, and our audiences have also grown, but the mission has stayed the same: Servant Stage Company exists to serve our community with outstanding musical and theatrical experiences, make the arts accessible to all, especially those with financial or physical limitations, provide a creative outlet for artists in our community to develop and share their talents, create performances that inspire, educate, challenge, and entertain... and have fun while doing it!

The hard-knock work started TODAY!

Today, two amazing groups of young performers (ages 8–12) kicked off their week of ANNIE KIDS! These campers are already hard at work bringing this beloved story to life.

Over the next few days they'll be singing, dancing, laughing, and growing together—and by this weekend, they'll be ready to take the stage for two incredible performances!

We can't wait to cheer on everything these young performers accomplish in just one week. Be sure to reserve your tickets and come celebrate all of their hard work!

We'll explore vocal techniques, story-telling through song, and how to make bold, smart choices that wow an audience. Plus, you'll get real-world tips in a fun, supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and shine. So warm up those vocal cords and bring your best Broadway energy - your spotlight is waiting!

*While we might not have time for every single student to sing during the class, each student that would like a chance to sing should come prepared with a song to work on and a recording of the accompaniment track. This can be a song you’re working on for auditions, a song you love to sing, or something brand new that you’re exploring. Please also have your sheet music handy.*

We kicked off our MARY POPPINS JR. summer camp on Monday, and what a fun week its already been! ☂️✨

One of our favorite things about this camp is watching so many different gifts come together. While our cast of students ages 10–16 has been learning music and choreography, our Crew Camp students have been busy building sets, creating props, and learning what it takes to bring a production to life.

In just a few short days, these students will share the story they've been working so hard to create—a story full of imagination, adventure, and a little bit of magic. We can't wait for you to see what they've accomplished this week!

Tirzah Steindel is thrilled to be teaching drop in class! She has trained at Lancaster Bible College, majoring in Musical Theater and Stage Management, and has been involved in a variety of theatrical roles, including performing, stage management, choreographing, directing, and vocal coaching. She has also worked extensively with high school productions and theater camps, bringing her passion for storytelling and the stage to young performers. Some of Tirzah’s favorite onstage credits include Tricia in A Chorus Line (Dutch Apple Dinner Theater), Portia in Something Rotten! (Keystone Theatrics), Jerusha Abbott in Daddy Long Legs (LBC), and Amy March in Little Women (Cavod, LBC, and Servant Stage). She has also performed as featured Singer/Dancer in Swing, Alabama Lamb/Featured Dancer in Big Fish (Servant Stage) and served as Choreographer for The Addams Family at CVHS. This year Tirzah is currently choreographing Frozen at CVHS!⁠

A few weeks ago, our talented cast of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE JR. took the stage and absolutely knocked it out of the park! We couldn't be more proud of the hard work, growth, and confidence these young performers displayed throughout the rehearsal process and performances. Watching students discover new skills, build friendships, and shine on stage is one of the greatest joys of what we do.

NEXT WEEK, a new adventure begins as our MARY POPPINS JR. camp kicks off! You'll likely spot a few familiar faces returning for another summer of theatre, but you'll also meet plenty of new students—some of whom are attending their very first camp with us.

Whether they're seasoned performers or stepping into a rehearsal room for the first time, we can't wait to see the creativity, courage, and community that will grow over the weeks ahead.

Here's to another summer filled with learning, laughter, and the magic of live theatre!
