🎨 Next up is Jim Gerkin!

Jim has been a full-time realism and watercolor artist since 2000. He takes inspiration from the world around him, where he finds "wow" moments to capture in photos or sketches before painting them in his studio. He works with color, line, texture, contrast, and composition to create beautiful two-dimensional pieces. He hopes that those who look at his work can experience what he did to better appreciate the beauty of the world. Jim holds an art degree and has experience studying watercolor painting with fellow artist Leland McClelland.

Linda is a self-taught watercolor artist of two years who specializes in renderings of buildings using watercolor and ink. She loves the way pigments move and blend in water and is always looking for projects that expand her horizons. She can see herself working in the watercolor medium for years to come.

🎨 Next up is Lori Clark!

Lori Clark is a self‑taught soft pastel artist whose work captures the warmth and texture of rural life, portraiture, and animal subjects. Her artistic roots stretch back to childhood, when she illustrated hand‑drawn holiday cards and created artwork for school publications and local storefronts.

🎨 Our next artist is Jennifer Brown!

Inspired by both familiar and new places, Jennifer does not limit herself to specific subjects or themes in her work. She creates handmade prints using non-toxic methods and processes such as collagraph, photopolymer gravure, drypoint etching, wood block relief, and monotypes. Her ceramics are also handmade with raku clay using pinch pot, coil, sculpting, and slabbing methods. They are fired in a Western-style raku process, which is done outdoors using propane.

🎨 Our next spotlight is Sandra Brandt!

Primarily a watercolor and acrylic artist, Sandra is inspired by her travels while serving in the Ohio Army National Guard. She is now retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation and lives in Licking County, Ohio. She is also a member of Columbus Urban Sketchers, the Southeastern Ohio Watercolor Society, the Community Artists of Westerville, and the Zanesville Museum of Art.

It's time to kick off the Artist Spotlights for the 2026 ArtWalk!

For the next couple of weeks, we will be spotlighting the artists who will be showcasing their work during ArtWalk on Friday, July 17. Spotlights will be shared in a randomly selected order. Thank you to these talented artists for sharing their creativity with us!

🎨 Our first artist is Amanda Atrostic!

Amanda Atrostic is a two-dimensional artist with roots in both Lancaster and Arizona. She works in a variety of mediums but has recently favored working in oils. Influenced by her summers in Ohio and winters in Arizona, her art features scenes from the Midwest and the desert. Her goal is to create art that reflects the world around her. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University and has won multiple Best in Show awards. She is also a member of the Gilbert Visual Arts League.
