Many thanks to Marlin Houck for highlighting the great variety and high quality of affordable musical events in Lancaster County in this LNP Letter to the Editor. Responding to a trend of rising ticket prices, Houck highlights Lancaster County's many high-quality, professional performance ensembles offering financially accessible experiences for people of all ages.

One such performance is taking place this weekend, at the Lancaster Art Vault! Allegro will be revamping our snowed-out January Music in the Round: The Hen. Featuring works from Mozart, Haydn, and Vincent d'Indy, and surrounded by stunning visual works from talented local artists, this concert is a pre-summer feast for the senses.

Tickets are only $35 for adults and are free for children 5-18! Available at allegrolancaster.org

You might notice a lot of winter boots and coats on chairs—that’s because this rehearsal took place on January 20 before we had to cancel our Winter Music in the Round! We’re finally coming back together at the this weekend to bring you The Hen 2: Summer Snow!

Tickets are selling fast, and space is limited. Get yours today! $35 General Admission, $45 VIP, $10 College Students with a school ID, and children 5-18 are always FREE with a paying adult.

We’re launching an incredible opportunity for our community members to be part of Allegro! As our 25th Summer approaches, we’re reaching out to our music-loving Lancaster community to make this series extra special. With a premier work from Grammy Award winning composer Don Sebesky, a tribute to American composers for our country’s 250th Anniversary, a world tour of composers abroad, a performance from the Allegro Chamber Singers and two lovely West Art chamber music concerts on the horizon, we’ve debated calling this the first ALLEGRO SUMMER FESTIVAL!

But we need your support! All contributions will go towards making sure our talented professional musicians have a successful series, that our audience can enjoy these performances for a reasonable price, and that Lancaster continues to be a thriving hub for world class arts and cultural experiences of all types!

Today through Monday, we’re honoring the memory of those who have given their lives while serving in the Armed Forces. Without these brave men and women who died in service to our country, the US would be a very different place. We wish to honor their memories by reducing our ticket prices all weekend so the people of Lancaster can come together in celebration of joyful music and community!
