Flashback Friday to The Unexpected, a 16-piece aluminum public art installation by artist Sara Lovas at the Golden Triangle Library in Fort Worth, Texas.

Rather than one large sculpture, Sara designed a collection of individual pieces to be experienced throughout the library. The works can be found both inside and outside the building, positioned on shelves, along ceiling beams, and in unexpected places throughout the space.

At ART Research, we fabricated all 16 pieces in aluminum, working closely with Sara to preserve the character and details of each element. With a project made up of multiple smaller works, each piece needed to stand on its own while still feeling connected to the larger installation.

It was a pleasure collaborating with Sara Lovas on The Unexpected and helping bring this playful public art project to life in Fort Worth.

Flashback Friday!

We’re proud to have been part of the team behind the Indoor Children’s Garden at Longwood Gardens, working with our client, Art Design Group, and design architect Tres Fromme.

The garden combines lush plantings, playful water features, intricate stonework, and architectural details inspired by traditional European pleasure gardens. Every element was designed to encourage children to explore, interact, and discover.

We’re grateful to have contributed to a space where art, architecture, horticulture, and craftsmanship come together to create an experience enjoyed by generations of visitors.

Crafted from a series of undulating bronze slabs, Khnum by DC-based artist Lisa Scheer is a striking addition to downtown Bethesda's public art collection. From the first concept sketches through fabrication, welding, and hand patination, every stage of the project required careful craftsmanship and collaboration.

Today, the sculpture stands at Metro Tower Plaza in the heart of downtown Bethesda, Maryland, where its dynamic form brings movement and energy to the surrounding fountain plaza. We're proud to have helped bring Lisa Scheer's vision from clay to sculpture—and from the foundry to its permanent home.

Today, we’re looking back at some of our favorite collaborations with our talented client, Cornelia Kavanagh.

Cornelia’s vision and artistry transform rounded forms into dynamic sculptures that reveal something new from every angle, inviting viewers to experience an ever-changing interplay of form, light, and shadow. It has been a privilege to help transform her ideas into enduring works of art through the fabrication and casting process, watching these elegant forms take shape in stainless steel, bronze, aluminum, and aqua resin.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with artists like Cornelia and help bring their creative visions into the world.

This , we're celebrating the work of renowned sculptor David Hostetler, whose artistry was dedicated to honoring the strength, beauty, and spirit of women.

Throughout his career, Hostetler created striking sculptures in wood and bronze inspired by goddesses and influential women in history. His work explored the grace, resilience, and intuition of the feminine, transforming these qualities into timeless sculptures.

It was a privilege to help bring many of David's sculptures to life, preserving his artistic vision into enduring bronze works that now enrich public spaces and private collections across the globe. His legacy continues to inspire, reminding us of the enduring power of sculpture to celebrate the human spirit.

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is seeing a sculpture become part of its surroundings after installation.

We were captivated by this recent photo taken in Mount Gretna, PA of Guardian of the Arts by artist Cory Wanamaker. Perfectly timed, it appears as though the sculpture is gently holding the moon in its hands. This was truly a breathtaking moment where art and nature came together. Its images like these that remind us how public art continues to evolve with every season, every change in light, and every person who experiences it.

A sculpture's story doesn't end when it's installed; it continues to grow with the community and landscape that surrounds it.

✨Flashback Friday✨

We're looking back at Ascend by Oletha DeVane , created as part of the Memorial to Those Enslaved and Freed honoring the enslaved people of John McDonogh. This meaningful sculpture serves as a lasting reminder of lives that deserve to be remembered and stories that deserve to be told.

Public art has the unique ability to preserve history, inspire reflection, and create spaces for learning across generations. We are grateful to have collaborated in bringing Oletha's vision to life and to have contributed to a project with such lasting significance.

Remembering the late artist Hubert Phipps and the extraordinary creativity he shared with the world.

We were privileged to collaborate with Hubert over the years and help bring his final sculpture, a polished bronze Roman Helmet, from concept to completion. His artistry and dedication will continue to be remembered through the sculptures he created and the impact he made on the art community.

We are grateful to have been part of Hubert’s journey and will continue to honor his lasting contribution to the world of sculpture.
