Nextgen Youth Music provides Lancaster County with five performing ensembles so that young musicians of all ages can develop their musicianship while growing with a community of friends.

Our Overture and Allegretto students and their directors have been working hard since January to bring you an incredible concert with works from Stravinsky, Beethoven, and this stirring medley of selections from Phantom of the Opera.

Our Crescendo students are knocking it out of the park! These great young musicians have been hard at work preparing to bring some holiday cheer with a great program of pieces old and new! (Including a composition from Conductor and Program Director Francis Caravella!)

Come out to support these excellent young performers on December 14th at 5pm. Doors open at 4:30!

Lancaster County Community Foundation’s Extra Give is right around the corner! On Friday, November 21st, millions of dollars are donated to incredible nonprofit organizations in Lancaster County over a 24 hour period, Allegro and Nextgen are ramping up for a great giving day! We are so looking forward to our inaugural Spring Festival where all 6 (six!) of our ensembles will be performing. 🎉

It will be an especially memorable, historical, and bittersweet experience for the Nextgen family as this will be Allegretto’s final concert under Dr. Brian Norcross’ baton.

Previously, Allegretto was a one ensemble program lead by Dr. Norcross. It then developed into what it is today through the absorption of Lancaster County Youth Symphonies. Thanks to the addition of those programs and support from teachers, schools, and the community, Nextgen was born. 💚

We owe so much to Dr. Norcross and would be honoured for you to celebrate him, beautiful music, and community, with us.

FINAL Audition registration deadline: August 24
We had more people sign up for auditions than we anticipated, so we added a few dates! You have a few days to sign up to audition for Overture & Allegretto (grades 8-12) for the 2022/23 Nextgen season.

Registration for all other non-auditioned ensembles (Prelude, Intermezzo Strings, Intermezzo Winds) will remain open until the end of September.
