Results of the Grant County Fair:

I was most happy to see the memorial portrait of Shooter the Dachshund take first place in pastel/charcoal! ❤️

Just got official word that my artwork will be part of the Grant County Fair. I'll have six pieces in the fair total, but since they only accept one colored pencil drawing, you'll see me stretching my artistic wings a bit. I'll be entering one colored pencil, one pastel/charcoal, one watercolor, one black pencil, one ink drawing, and one greeting card (not sure yet what I'm going to use for that). Here's a sneak peek of me working with watercolor -- something I haven't really done since high school!

This beauty is a result of a personal challenge I set for myself. I wanted to see if I could create a black and white look using colored pencils. This is the result! I used about 10 different colored pencils, most varying shades of french grey, but also some violet and blue.

Parker is a 7x5 drawing done in d' Ache Luminance Colored Pencils on Strathmore Bristol paper.

I don't have as much experience with animals as humans, so Scout here had a lot to teach me. I'm so touched that I could help his family honor his memory.
