Lead guitar. I have been playing for 30 years. Mostly into jazz standards and some blues. Formed JPJ&Company jazz band in 1997. Played around San Fernando valley area until 2005.

JPJ&Company has been performing in the A.V. since 2010.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...It is real music. It is timeless. It can be simple and complex at the same time. I was first exposed to jazz... At 13 years of age. I met [Terry Gibbs]...about 13 years ago on the tennis court in the San Fernando Valley. The best show I ever attended was...A live recording of one of Terry's albums, it was great, The first jazz record I bought was...It was so long ago I can't even remember. My advice to new listeners...everyone knows what they like. If it's jazz you don't need any advice from me. Or whatever else you have in mind. I have listened to jazz for most of my life. Even before I became a jazz guitarist I took ownership of the music. I internalized it, made it my own. This intimate relationship with the music has served me well as a musician.
