"Evening Fields", 18x14" oil on canvas. Still trying to find some more good winter pieces to do but in the meantime I have plenty of references from the summer. A couple big works in progress as well. I'm excited for a few of those. It's interesting using a reference taken a few years ago and somehow remembering the feel and smell of the warm evening summer air. I try to put those memories into my paintings.

A portrait of my daughter I did for my wife's Christmas surprise. I haven't done a whole lot of portraits of children so each one is a new learning experience for me. I'm pretty ok with how this one turned out. 👍

"Winter's Haze", oil on canvas, 18x14". I finished this a couple of weeks ago but only got around to taking photos today. I wanted to do a snowy scene but I really don't have that much reference since it hasn't been snowing much these past few years. There are a couple more I'd like to do, so hopefully those are coming in the future soon. ✌️

"September Flame", oil on canvas, 36x36". I've been working on this one on and off for a while now. I remember going out to take photos of this beautiful sycamore in the evening last summer and the conditions were absolutely perfect. All except for the one condition that I REALLY needed to use the bathroom while I was waiting for the sun to get into position. Oh well. 🤷

"Solace", oil on canvas, 14x18". A quiet but windy moment from the summer. I wish I had taken more reference photos in the snow from winters past because I'm feeling in the mood for that. Maybe I can dig up a few somewhere...

Two more small paintings I've done recently. Both from photos taken in the dog days of summer last year near where I live. I'm having fun experimenting with HOW I paint with these recent pieces, and these are absolutely learning experiences for me in different methods of doing things. I always like experimenting and trying new things. Happy with how these explorations turned out.
