1957 Martin D-18. Complete refret and leveling of fingerboard, replaced 3 pearl dots, removed and reglued the bridge and the cupping pickguard, new bone nut and compensated saddle, and gave it a good cleaning. This is a wonderful guitar and 1 of only 1,000 model D-18 that Martin made that year. It's a real treat to work on such a nice guitar! Contact me for all your string instrument repair needs. 1970 Guild F112 NT. This old 12 string guitar got a full refret, a new compensated bone saddle, I glued a crack in the bridge, installed a bridge dr to lessen the belly and bring the action down, cleaned it up, brushed some lacquer on the bare wood around the soundhole, and scrounged up a screw to put a tuner k**b back on. This old Gibson LG1 got the frets dressed and set-up. Cleaned up some spilled liquor and grime and shined it up, glued a couple of cracks, compensated the flat saddle for better intonation, and I brushed a clear coat on the bare wood around the soundhole. Another Martin with loose binding. This D-35 had loose binding on the back that got removed, cleaned, and reglued with canopy glue. I had to fit a small piece of binding to fill the gap create by the binding shrinkage. I also put a clear coat on the bare wood around the soundhole and cleaned it. I really like the mammoth ivory bridgepins with abalone dots!

Here's a violin I varnished. I used traditional oil varnish and it's been curing a long time. It just got set-up and is ready to play. Anyone is welcome to play it. Another Martin with loose binding. This Dreadnought Centennial had all the binding removed. The old glue was cleaned and the binding was reglued. This was the first time using canopy glue and it worked great. I was able to remove the binding from under the fretboard and not have a binding gap on the top. The back had a small piece of ivoroid binding added to fill a small gap from the binding shrinkage. Contact me for all your string instrument repairs. I'm located in Lampasas, Texas.

I believe this to be a circa 1770 violin by Ferdinando Gagliano made in Naples, Italy. There's history that goes with all the cracks, but it's still a lovely Neopolitan violin. I just cleaned and polished it, refit the bridge, adjusted the soundpost, glued a couple cracks, and installed a new tailpiece. I love old Italian violins.
