Lamar Community College is excited to welcome local native Haleigh Prosser back to Prowers County as a member of the LCC agriculture faculty this fall.

Haleigh Prosser was born and raised in Wiley, Colorado, and is looking forward to returning to rural Prowers County this fall. After being an active member of the Wiley FFA and local agriculture in high school, she completed a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the Texas A&M Veterinary Education, Research, and Outreach Program, expecting to wrap up her studies this summer.

With her experiences, education, and research, she brings practical knowledge of beef cattle, backgrounding and stocker systems, genomic testing of commercial feeder cattle, livestock health, and local production agriculture.

Haleigh looks forward to meeting the students of LCC and providing a production-based education to future rural agriculturalists like herself!
