Yesterday was an exciting day for LCC Rodeo as our new 8-stall horse barn was officially completed!!!

This facility represents far more than a new building—it is an investment in our student-athletes, their horses, and the future of our program. Providing a safe, functional home for our equine athletes will have a lasting impact for years to come.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Lamar Community College Foundation and our Administration for making this project possible. Your generosity and commitment to student success continue to strengthen opportunities for our rodeo team, and we are incredibly thankful for your support.

We’re excited to begin this next chapter and look forward to seeing the memories, accomplishments, and championships that will begin right here.

Lamar Community College Rodeo team is thrilled to announce Kodey Hoss as our new Head Rodeo Coach!

Rodeo has shaped Kodey's life from an early age, and the lessons it has taught her continue to influence the way she leads today. As Head Rodeo Coach at Lamar Community College, she is passionate about helping student-athletes discover their potential while building a program founded on integrity, accountability, and competitive excellence. She believes the greatest victories are measured not only by championships but also by the growth, character, and confidence students gain throughout their collegiate careers.

Kodey's foundation in the western industry began early in life and has grown through years of involvement in rodeo, and agriculture. She competed collegiately at Weatherford College, where she participated in breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, and barrel racing while earning an Associate of Arts degree and a Certificate in Equine Management and Production. During her time at Weatherford, she qualified twice for the College National Finals Rodeo in goat tying, finishing among the nation's top four and top seven competitors respectively. In 2022, she was a member of Weatherford College's Women's National Championship Team, helping the program capture the College National Finals Rodeo team title. She later continued her education and collegiate rodeo career at Texas Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce.

Throughout her collegiate career, Kodey earned numerous regional rodeo victories and short-round qualifications while competing against some of the nation's top athletes. During college and following her graduation, she continued to compete, earning multiple event wins in both the Colorado Pro Rodeo Association and Kansas Professional Rodeo Association. In 2021, she was recognized as the CPRA Rookie of the Year in breakaway roping. She remains actively involved in the rodeo industry as a competitor, providing her with a broad perspective on competition, sportsmanship, and the standards expected of today's athletes.

As Head Rodeo Coach, Kodey is dedicated to creating an environment where every student-athlete has the opportunity to grow as both a competitor and an individual. Her coaching philosophy is centered on accountability, preparation, and continuous improvement while recognizing that every athlete's path is unique. She believes that success is built through consistency, resilience, and a willingness to embrace challenges, and she strives to instill those values in every student-athlete.

Kodey is honored to lead the Lamar Community College Rodeo program and build upon its proud tradition of excellence. She looks forward to mentoring the next generation of rodeo athletes, strengthening relationships within the rodeo community, and preparing students to compete successfully while representing Lamar Community College with professionalism, pride, and respect.
