Both gallery and working studio, Valkarie is owned and run by artists, for artists and invites the community to join us in the celebration of all things creative. Together, they envisioned a space where they could collectively create and display their art. A place where they could invite a diverse collection artists to exhibit their work and whose art greatly inspired the creation of their own.

Colleen Tully’s Fallen Light creates a haunting sense of nostalgia — a quiet moment suspended between memory, solitude, and reflection.

Influenced by gothic literature and poetry, Colleen’s work explores the emotional weight carried by human figures and the environments they inhabit. Her subjects feel both familiar and distant, inviting us into dreamlike spaces where vulnerability, longing, and introspection exist alongside the beauty of the natural world.
Through layered materials and atmospheric landscapes, Colleen creates images that feel like fragments of a forgotten story — moments of stillness that evoke empathy and a deeper connection to the human experience.

This art call seeks works that embody the spirit of creative experimentation through layering techniques, collage, and the potential of vibrant color splash. We encourage submissions that use marks—whether subtle or bold—to build complex visual narratives and compositions. Reveal the energy and emotion behind every stroke, demonstrate how layering can transform simple lines into intricate networks, and let color splash infuse your artworks with movement and life.

A volcanic eruption lights the night sky in brilliant reds and oranges, while white seabirds move calmly through the chaos, embodying resilience, grace, and adaptation in the face of immense change.

Tender Wild is a collection of all-new work and marks Colleen’s eighth solo exhibition at Valkarie Gallery—an exciting milestone for one of our longest-tenured resident artists. Across the exhibition, Colleen explores landscapes shaped by powerful natural forces and the creatures that inhabit them. Her paintings balance moments of drama and stillness, revealing the beauty, fragility, and endurance woven throughout the wild world around us.

We invite you to experience the work in person in our main gallery and spend time with this remarkable exhibition.

 Experiential Journey into Artistic & Creative Expression 

"Creativity, Courage, and Chaos" is an immersive art experience designed to inspire participants to explore the intersections of imaginative freedom, identity, personal bravery, and the unpredictable nature of creative processes. This course blends hands-on art making with reflective practices, group interaction, and personal exploration. It is suitable for all media artists of all levels, from beginners seeking inspiration to experienced creators seeking a fresh and realigned perspective. You will leave with a full toolbox of ideas, strategies and plans. 

3 sessions: Saturdays: June 13th, 27th and July 11th from 9-2pm
