Kym Butcher Photography amateur photographer capturing nature's beauty, avid hiker, lover of animals and words... Their happiness = my happiness. Time is so fleeting as are memories.

I started hiking as a way to recharge my mind from everyday stressors, to escape the concrete, noise and pollution that surrounds me daily. It was also a way to spend time with my dogs who need that stimulation for their well being. I've always loved capturing life to hold on to and to reflect upon in the future. People began complimenting my photos more and more. I started becoming more aware of

the absolute beauty of nature, things that often go unnoticed by others. At some point, the praise that I was constantly receiving inspired me to share what I capture through my eyes. So here we are. Maybe this will turn out to be just a fun thing that doesn't really go anywhere. Maybe it will turn into something big. Only the future will tell. In the meantime, I'll just keep escaping to the forests and wherever I'm called to be, with my dogs, the flora, fauna, wildlife, mountains, lakes, and rivers with my backpack and camera looking for things to capture forever.

Sometimes it's difficult to decide if a photo looks better in black and white or color. Maybe both fit. Some photos only work as black and white and vice versa. Another photographer could stand in the exact same place as I was when I took mine and take a completely different photo. There are so many determining factors involved. We all have our own unique visions of the world around us. It's fascinating.
