FrediDANCE Project

FrediDANCE Project FrediDANCE Project is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Dance company.

The mission of FrediDANCE Project is to enrich the lives of individuals and the community through dance as a living art form. We believe that through providing dance arts education and entertainment to underserved communities, focusing on the potential of all dancers regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender identity or different abilities, and exploring ideas that challenge and inspire glo

bal social change, we can be a vehicle for positive change and make dance happen for everyone. FrediDANCE Project is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) dance company providing a professional performance program and an unparalleled dance education program in Polk County and surrounding areas. FrediDANCE Project presents live performances both independently and in collaboration with other arts programs, artists, groups and musicians. We have performed at a variety of venues throughout Polk County including the Polk Theatre, Polk Museum of Art, Polk State College, Munn Park, and, most recently, a division opera performance on our very own outdoor stage. In support of our mission of reaching all individuals in our community, we constructed a reusable outdoor stage which allowed us to perform our first of many FrediDANCE Project Division Opera performances and we were able to offer free admission and accessibility to individuals who may not have otherwise been able to attend. FrediDANCE Project offers scholarship-based educational and apprenticeship opportunities to aspiring dancers with diverse economic needs and from under-served minorities. The Apprenticeship program allows dancers aged 11 and up to take part in professional dance activities where homeschooled students aspiring to careers as professional dancers may attend rehearsals during the weekdays with the professional company. The Youth Ensemble program allows young dancers to take a rehearsal class one day in the evening led both by members of the professional company and the artistic director. The Youth Ensemble then participates in their performance schedule as well as working with the adult company on combined performances. The Summer Intensive program is designed for intermediate and advanced students aged 12 and up who are committed to enhancing their dance training on a pre-professional level. The program provides students with a chance to improve artistic development, experience a professional company’s creative process, and acquire lifelong career-building and networking skills. FrediDANCE Project also provides a year-round Special Creative Experience for students with mental, emotional, and/or physical challenges. This program celebrates varying exceptionalities and provides a fun and supportive environment for movement and dance. The objective is to create and present highly artistic and introspective works that provoke thought and evoke emotion. Exploring ideas that can help to inspire global social change and an awareness of the disenfranchised and and marginalized minority groups of the world.
