What’s it worth today? What’s it worth to you?
Grady Judd painted this piece in 2011 for a fundraiser benefiting Elderpoint Ministries, with Bill Mutz and Ford Heacock also participating. I was the high bidder at the fundraiser auction and now own what may be the only Grady Judd painting.
When Elderpoint Ministries asked Grady Judd to participate, he initially declined, saying he’d only join in if he could involve his guns. When I heard about this, I suggested calling him back to say he could use guns—specifically, sq**rt guns loaded with liquid acrylic paint. He agreed.
In addition to the sq**rt guns, red paint was dropped from a ten-foot ladder with an eye dropper to mimic blood splatter or bullet holes. The red area next to Grady’s signature is actually his thumbprint.
I’ve owned and enjoyed this painting for the past 13 years. In that time, Grady Judd has become a nationally known figure. Our Polk County Sheriff has amassed a significant online following, with hundreds of videos on YouTube capturing his memorable statements and no-nonsense approach to law enforcement. Some of these videos have gained millions of views, with compilations like the Best of Grady Judd series showcasing his unique communication style and tough stance on crime. His YouTube channel alone, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, currently features 862 videos with a total of over 21 million views.
