Fairytale Friends, this one is the hardest.
I still cannot bring myself to write the words.
I know this is not the sparkles, magic and whimsy you usually see from this page, but I have to say something about my hero-the entire reason either of my small businesses exists.
Tim Curry is our king and neither DCTE or EFH would exist without him.
I have been struggling to find the words to describe how much he means to me, and I don't think I will ever be able to properly put it into words or fully encompass just how much I look up to him and what a big influence he has been in my life.
Tim Curry is my inspiratation. If you know me outside of the kingdom, there are two things I love more than anything (except sir Patrick of course). Tim Curry & Freddie Mercury/Queen.
Their level of performance, charisma, stage presence, talent just leaves me in awe.
Tim Curry is the entire reason I love acting so much. He fully commits to a character and brings them to life above and beyond making them real, three dimensional and not just a distant person on a stage reciting lines. He breathes life into each character and makes them distinct, unique and unforgettable.
From his beginning in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, to the Lord of Darkness in Legend, Captain Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island, Hexxus in Fern Gully, the Concierge in Home Alone 2. Tim Curry has touched so many lives with his gift of acting.
He certainly meant so much to me. His work helped me through tough spots and has always been there for me. I owe him my entire acting career.
He taught us all to Don't Dream It, Be It. Because of him, I believed in myself and after constant rejection, I started this little dream right here to bring magic to life. To make an impact on people. To be unforgettable.
My favorite Professional Pirate will always be the King in my heart. I hope he looks like Long John up there in heaven in a room full of treasure as happy as he can be.
I am so SO glad I had the absolute honor to meet him in person in 2017. A literal dream come true. As you can see in the 3rd picture, I absolutely lost it and couldn't believe my hero was real. He was right there! (Shout out to Lady Jessica for capturing the magic) I couldn't pull it together to tell him how much he meant to me and was just falling apart sobbing and babbling to him while he politely nodded (and likely had NO clue what I was saying), but I hope he understood at least a little about how great he was and what he meant to me. That his work inspired me to be an actor and basically create my own business because of his ability to bring characters to life. Then, admist all the incoherent sobs and tears, he said to me, "That's Jabba the Hutt!" π€£ And then a likely unitelligble explanation for why the heck I had a Jabba the Hutt dressed as him exploded from me. ππ« But, I got this tearful picture with him that I will always treasure.
I love you, Tim.
