Installed in its new home.

This custom stained glass patio door panel was inspired by a 1930s storybook brought to us by the client. Using the original artwork as a reference, we developed a design specifically for the space, taking into account the scale of the door, the surrounding architecture, and the way natural light moves through the home.

Handcrafted in our studio and installed on site, the finished piece feels integrated into the house rather than added onto it.

In this recent commission, Shanon introduces a Tiffany-style opalescent glass, not seen as often in our studio as traditional stained glass.��Unlike traditional stained glass, this material is designed to hold its presence at all hours, offering depth, movement, and color both in direct light and in its absence.�
Created for an out-of-state church, the piece was considered not only as an interior moment, but as an exterior experience as well. The result is a composition that lives in both conditions. Luminous by day, dimensional by night.�

Every project begins on-site. We study the condition, the craftsmanship, and the intent behind each piece before anything is touched. That understanding guides every decision that follows.

Some works need protection from the elements. Others require deeper restoration. In either case, the priority is alignment with the original hand, preserving what’s essential and restoring only what’s necessary.

McMow Art Glass was honored to join the Historical Society of Palm Beach County for Palm Beach by Design: Then & Now.

Founder and President Shanon Materio opened the evening with reflections on Palm Beach as a living canvas shaped by generations of craftsmanship, vision, and cultural influence.

The conversation was moderated by Jeff Sophir () and featured an outstanding panel including Lisa Erdmann (), Robert Bell (), Joe Morin (), and John Melhorn (.design).

Each shared thoughtful perspectives on how Palm Beach continues to evolve while preserving the design traditions that define the community.
