Liminal Waters explores the threshold between turmoil and transformation through images of the sea at night. In each painting, turbulent waters are interrupted by a shaft of light emerging through darkness, creating a space suspended between uncertainty and hope.
The works are inspired by ancient sea narratives in which water serves as both trial and passage. Rather than illustrating a specific story, the paintings inhabit the moment between surrender and renewal—the place where direction remains unseen, yet presence is felt.
The ocean becomes a metaphor for life's storms, while the descending light suggests guidance, grace, and the possibility of purpose hidden within upheaval. In these nocturnal seascapes, darkness is not overcome by light; instead, the two coexist, revealing a landscape where transformation unfolds in the space between.
