One of Lake Placid's premier activities. Operating only during the coldest weeks of Winter.

Thank you for a great season!

The Toboggan Chute is CLOSED for the season. It has been a great 2026 season and mother nature was the behind-the-scenes hero with plenty of cold temperatures.

Thank you to the 3,725 adults/parents and 3,733 children/students who came to visit with us and experience the great slide out onto Mirror Lake this year.

A special thank you to all of the Park District Staff and our seasonal employees for all of their hard work and smiles, welcoming our guests to the chute.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2027.

Last week, the Town of North Elba Board adopted an Ice Safety and Equipment Access Policy for Mirror Lake. The policy provides clear guidance to the Park District Office and its staff, increasing transparency around how decisions are made regarding when it is safe to access the ice surface of Mirror Lake with staff and equipment each winter. Due to current track surface conditions the Toboggan Chute will be limiting sled runs today. The opening will be postponed until 7pm to ensure safe sled capacity for the ice on the chute.
