The 28th (30 minus two COVID years) Annual SLYAA "Baroque and Beyond Concert" is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake, featuring accomplished musicians to support local youth arts. This performance occurs during the 2026 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival (Feb 6–15).

Date: Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
Location: First United Methodist Church, 63 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY.
Admission: Suggested donation of $12.
Purpose: The concert raises funds for the Saranac Lake Young Arts Association to support youth performance arts, workshops, and scholarships.
The first Baroque Concert was in 1995 as a stage for all community musicians, young and old
It has evolved as a showcase of all the awesome musicians, students, amateurs and the many professionals in the community.
The concert is a staple of the annual Winter Carnival, which in 2026 features a "CARTOONIVAL" theme, an ice palace, and various performances.
This year’s highlights are (amongst many surprise submissions):
- Muriel Kerr, cellist, performing “Swan” by Camille St.Saëns
- Sarah Douglas, baroque violinist, presenting “Winter” by Vivaldi on her baroque violin. Both those pieces will be accompanied by members of the CSOA.
- John Curtis, piano: Beethoven
- Judy Curtis, soprano: Handel aria accompanied by John Blevins on trumpet, Elaine Dewar on violin, Muriel Kerr on cello and John Curtis on harpsichord.
- Thomas Stork, bass and Timothy Mount, piano: Schubert Lieder
- Alex Malin, recorder, John Curtis, harpsichord: Telemann Sonata F minor
- Elizabeth Izzo, violin and Joey Izzo, piano are playing Bach
