We are still shocked at the sudden loss of Marcia, she was and amazing woman, mother, and worker. Everyone that met her fell in love with her! Her spirit lives on in her loved one’s hearts! It’s 9:45 PM on December 7 Thursday evening.

82 years ago today daddy was taken out of 6 weeks basic training with only three weeks under his belt… at Biloxi Mississippi Keesler Air Force Base and put on a ship to be sent to North Africa and on to Lasina, Italy.

He had a enlisted November 11, 1941 in order to keep from being drafted. He went to the Army Air Corps recruiters office and signed up.

After spending a few days in Connecticut for orientation he left for Biloxi Mississippi to begin basic training. Three weeks into basic training the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour and daddy’s life was set on a course that would take him almost 32 years through the ranks in the US Air Force.

Today, on Fox News, 7 veterans of that war were honoured ~ all of them were at 100 years of age or older. Five were in wheelchairs and two were able to stand on their own. 4 years later that war would come to an end when Hi**er was finally defeated.

I just wanted to acknowledge that because I know you loved daddy and love our family history. Today we remember all of those who lost their lives and changed the course of history as others came into service of their country.

This holiday season when you are with your families, say a prayer for all of our service personnel who can’t be home with their families! Their sacrifice is great! MLLHR
