Welcome to our very first Sunday Tip! 💜 Each week, we’ll share practical advice, inspiration, and theatre knowledge to help young performers grow both on and off the stage.

This week, we’re starting with one of the most important habits a performer can develop: preparation.

Great performances don’t just happen—they’re built through the work you put in before you ever step onstage.

✨ KNOW YOUR MATERIAL
Practice your lines, lyrics, choreography, and blocking.

🎭 DIG DEEPER
Take time to understand your character, their story, motivations, and goals.

📚 BE CONSISTENT
A little practice each day can make a huge difference when it’s time to perform.

⭐ COME READY
When you’re prepared, you can spend less time worrying about what comes next and more time being fully present in the moment.

Preparation builds confidence. Confidence creates magic. ✨

🎭 MEGAN TUDOR - Director & Choreographer
Megan will lead SHINE performers through dynamic rehearsals, storytelling, movement, and ensemble work—helping each performer grow while creating a strong, connected company.

🎶 EMILY STORMER - Music Director
Emily will guide the ensemble’s musical development, bringing her expertise and passion for music to help performers strengthen their vocals, musicality, and performance skills.

Together, Megan and Emily will create an experience that challenges young artists, builds confidence, and brings the SHINE ENSEMBLE vision to life.

✨ INTRODUCING SHINE ENSEMBLE! ✨

SHINE ENSEMBLE is an advanced performance troupe for ages 11–18, created for young artists who are ready to take their musical theatre training beyond the classroom and into the community.

SHINE is for performers who are passionate, dedicated, collaborative, and eager to grow. Members will strengthen their skills in singing, dancing, and acting while developing confidence, professionalism, stage presence, and the ability to work together as a true ensemble.

As members of SHINE, performers will represent Spotlight through local community performances and unique performance opportunities, gaining valuable experience while creating friendships and memories along the way.

This is a place for young artists who are ready to challenge themselves, support one another, and become part of something bigger than a single performance.

Spotlight Dance Teachers Melody Elmore and Chynna Rae Shurts dazzled the stage in the ensemble of Chorus Line at Clackamas Repertory Theatre. Such a tight and talented cast and a fantastic production. Congrats to all!

We're All In This Together! Spotlight ended our summer with the nostalgic High School Musical JR (12-18y). The cast brought tons of energy, humor, and skill to their impressive harmonies and spectacular dance numbers. High five to our team: Intern Ava Maloco, Megan Tudor (Director/Choreographer), and Emily Stormer (Music Director).
