Lakewood's 73rd Season concludes with the classic musical Funny Girl, opening this Friday, April 24th, 7:30pm on the Headlee Main Stage.

Funny Girl is the semi-autobiographical tale of F***y Brice’s (Melissa Gale) meteoric rise to fame and her tumultuous relationship with Nick Arnstein (Nick Serrone), a wealthy and charming gambler. From her beginnings as an awkward Brooklyn teen talking her way into show business to becoming the toast of New York and the unraveling of her personal life, Funny Girl is a striking, richly told tour de force about one of Broadway’s biggest stars. The endearing, emotional musical features a lineup of great tunes performed through Bob Merrill and Jule Styne’s unforgettable score, which includes “People,” “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” “The Music That Makes Me Dance,” and “You Are Woman, I Am Man.”

Lakewood’s production of Funny Girl is directed by Dennis Corwin. The music director is Cyndy Ramsey-Rier, and the assistant director/choreographer is Laura Hiszczynskyj.

The talented ensemble, playing multiple roles, features Margo Schembre, Ed Pierce, Riley Parham, Jody Allen, Hillary Chapman, Emily Smith, Melissa M. Standley, RJ Tofte, Tim Ward, Robert Altieri, Ali Bean, Alika Bright, Austin Stone, Sarah DeGrave, Corrine Michelle Maddox, Isaac Elmore, Lindy Hatcher, Jared Lingle, Liz O’Donnell, Amanda Marie Pred, Pippa Southard, Kate Potter, and Melody Wells-Benitez.

Tickets are available online, at our box office, or give us a call. Funny Girl runs through June 7th.

Lakewood Theatre proudly presents The Glass Menagerie opening TONIGHT!

Set in St. Louis in the 1930s, it is told through the eyes of Tom Wingfield (Mario Calcagno), who recalls life in a cramped apartment with his formidable mother, Amanda (Luisa Sermol), and his fragile sister, Laura (Ariel Puls). As the family struggles with financial instability and shattered dreams, they pin their hopes on the arrival of Jim O’Conner (Spencer Conway), a “gentleman caller,” for Laura.More than just a play, The Glass Menagerie is an emotional landscape. It captures the universal ache of looking backward—at the family members we loved, the ones we left behind, and the illusions we build to survive reality. It is a story about the fragility of the human heart, as easily broken as glass.

The Glass Menagerie runs from tonight to April 5th. Give our box office a call or visit our website for ticket information.
