Shane Fekete - Set Construction Director

Shane Fekete is enjoying his ongoing work with Epicenter Theatre Group. Being no stranger to the stage, or the construction thereof, he has been involved in a variety of productions over the years. Shane began his acting career when he was a senior at the Western High School in Bay City, Michigan, where he performed the part of Pawnee Bill, Old Miner and the Conductor in Annie Get Your Gun. The summer of 2004 found him playing the part of Young Fool in ABC Production’s rendition of Big River.

Beginning in the fall of 2005 and concluding the fall of 2011, Shane became involved in building and performing in the haunted forest at Camp Fish Tales. The camp is a non-profit, no boundary summer camp for children and adults with special needs. The haunted forest saw the first of many yearly set creations made by him in which numerous customers were thoroughly scared. Shane later revived his performing career in the summer of 2010 by auditioning for the resident cast of the Michigan Renaissance Festival. He was accepted for a role and was later picked up by the company Delirio del Arte. He iscontinuing to work with them each festival season. An accomplished performance artist, Shane is capable of juggling various objects including balls, clubs, knives, torches and rubber chickens. His other notable skills include trumpet playing, fire breathing, fire eating and stilt walking.

In March of 2011 Shane moved from the Bay City area where he was born and raised to Warren, Michigan, to broaden his performance possibilities. Upon doing so he was introduced and welcomed into the Epicenter Theatre Group family. He wishes to thank his fiancé Mary for her love and support, his mother Donna for accepting her son’s decision and loving him unconditionally and his father Dan for teaching him how to build things the right way. So far Shane has constructed the sets of Epicenter Theatre Group’s production of Glengarry Glen Ross in 2011 and ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION in 2012. He looks forward to his future involvement in this quickly growing, highly talented company.
