Hey friends! Remember me?!! It’s been a hot minute since I have posted but I’m launching a new art class Ive been thinking about for a long time and I need a few adults to take the first one!

It’s got a lot of freedom and exploration built in, and is different than any content I have taught in the past- thats why I need practice!

i just want you to know.. it’s ok to start at the beginning. to take the time to learn and grow into something else. to say thank you to seasons and adventures that no longer serve you. it’s ok to grow. to become a seed buried deep in the soil. hidden away, slowly creating something radically different. sometimes the flowers that spring up are just that.. made to put in a vase to enjoy for a brief moment and then to disappear. it’s ok to cry, to hurt, and then to say to yourself.. i’m done. painting complete. so be kind to yourself.. and know it’s ok to start at the beginning.

i love you. be kind to yourself today. you definitely deserve it.

i rode a wooden roller coaster. i almost died. i won’t be doing that again. i wanna live.

This canvas was a down right struggle today. I texted my sister the “in progress image” and told her “just over here making sh*t.” I sincerely doubted everything about myself and then something clicked.. I just started making one choice after another that seemed right... and then a friend came and we talked about my struggles… and of course we talked about and his new song and then it hit me….

When I look in a mirror I hope I can tell myself “I believe in you.” BUT also.. it’s a gentle reminder that your tribe around you believes in you as well… and isn’t that the greatest thing in the world?.. to be believed in? ❤️

i woke up from a nap with these words on my heart.

seems easy.

but it’s perhaps the hardest two words to act on. especially if you grew up in the church like me. i am not saying or implying you not love others . what i am saying is that sometimes you need to be taught the hard way to put your oxygen mask on first.. and then keep it on. you do no one any good in the long run if you don’t love yourself. that’s all.
