Congratulations Lilia! 💕We celebrated the beautiful Lilia, bride to be, 💍 on Saturday with a fun collage floral bridal party! 💐Lilia is shown with her lovely art in the first photo. These ladies all nailed it! I love how them came together to celebrate Lilia. It was a lovely afternoon of good conversation and creativity. ✨ Thanks to Rosanna Moreno for hosting us- it was a wonderful party!

Found this in my stash of “antique” and old papers used for collage. (I pick these up at antique stores.) No date on it. Setting is Connecticut. An original verse by a Margaret Alves. She typed it; what a loving, sweet verse to Mrs. Hill. Distance separated them. So tender. So sweet. Support. Kindness. Faith. This made my day. A moment of love - support from one woman to another. Typos, corrections: who cares! I can’t tear this paper up, I won’t. 😢

Meet Cynthia Grandjean, artist and owner of C Grandjean Art!

Cynthia creates original acrylic and oil paintings in a variety of sizes, with each piece offering something unique for the spaces where it will be displayed. Her work includes still-life florals and scenes inspired by the natural beauty of the Texas Gulf Coast.

Cynthia especially enjoys painting outdoors from life, capturing and documenting the coastal scenery around her through her art.

More notes on the cotton patch experience: I’ve been to a cotton field many times as a kid as my aunt and uncles were cotton farmers. In fact, the land next door to Mikel Farms - which was my uncles cotton farm - still belongs to family. I sketched that homestead from across the cotton field- remembering good times! SKETCHING in the cotton field is a first for me- and very enjoyable. We did find shade to work in. The opened cotton bolls were beautiful; the early yellow, the older pink blooms were softly colored. There was dew glint on the cotton bolls when I first arrived. Thanks to Dani and Mikel Brothers Cotton for allowing my art friends and I to come out and sketch. We all learned a lot. I got some good reference material. It was so hot, we couldn’t stay long - most of us were done by 10 am. I’m looking forward to completing my cotton painting in the studio soon.
