Cosplay~Con is a two day, indoors, crafting and entertainment convention in New York City where people who participate in the art of Cosplay can socially meet in person, interact with their favorite hobby and learn new ways to improve their craft. The convention focuses on three key areas in Cosplay:
>Costuming (the art of designing and creating clothes)
>Make Up (the art of using cosmetics and
styling hair)
>Prop Crafting (the art of designing and creating accessories that are safe to use in a public crowd)
Unlike many comic-book and general geek conventions/expos, Cosplay~Con is focused on the breadth and depth of a huge aspect of these large fan gatherings: Cosplay. To facilitate this, our main floor will have large open spaces with various backdrops and large artistic centerpieces to give space to the cosplayers in order for them to interact and pose for photos. We will also have two large changing rooms, separate from the convention’s bathrooms, for cosplayers to change into, maintain and change out of their costumes. Cosplay~Con will also focus more on maximizing the many workshops on sewing, make up, metalworking, circuitry, prop-making and more while having fewer panels than most conventions. The panels themselves will be electrifying, featuring experienced cosplayers as well as major members in the practical effects, make up and crafting industries. Our tagline for our content goes as such: “Most people try to book Robert Downy Jr. for their convention. We try to book the amazing team of people who created the iconic Iron Man suit he wears in the blockbuster Marvel films.”
