🎆What an incredible weekend for Spectrum Dance Center!🎆
On May 23rd and 24th, we proudly hosted the Jazz Dance Conference West, led by our talented Mr. Jeff Hendrix .hendrix and Artistic Director Janell Burgess , who serves on the board of the Jazz Dance Alliance 🎉
Our fabulous Spectrum dancers took the stage by storm with their stunning performance of “Disco Under the Stars”, choreographed by Janell. A huge shoutout to dancers Tracy, Rhonda, Haley, Colleen, Jamie, Ari and Chandra for captivating the audience with their charm and charisma, all while rocking those dazzling disco ball-inspired costumes! 🪩🌈🕺
The event took place at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson, California, and it was a night to remember!
We’re so proud of our dancers for showcasing their hard work and talent. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success! 🥳🫶

🌟✨Spotlight on Our Amazing Duo!🥰🥰🌟
We are thrilled to celebrate our dynamic mom-and-daughter tap duo, Karen and Claire Whittkop, for their incredible journey at Spectrum Dance Center! 💃🎉💃
Under the wonderful guidance of our studio director, Janell Burgess , these two have brought such fun and vivacious energy to our tap class on Monday nights! Their passion and dedication have shone through in just their first 90 days of dance!✨
Not only have they embraced the rhythm, but they’ve also become proficient in many of our tap sequences.
We are so grateful to have them as a part
of our Spectrum Dance Center family
and we can’t wait to watch them continue to grow and shine! 💖

🌟Celebrating Our Star!🌟
We are absolutely thrilled to shine the spotlight
on one of our incredible Spectrum Dance Center members, Camilla Bruno !🎉💃
Your dedication and passion for dance inspire us all,
and we couldn’t be prouder to have you
as part of our dance family.
Camilla is a true example of resilience and commitment. After building a beautiful family and welcoming
two wonderful children, she returned to dancing
with the same grace and determination
that first captured our hearts.
Her journey back to the stage began with
her stunning performance in the SDC showcase
in winter 2020, where she danced in Mr. Jeff Hendrix’s piece. Since then, Camilla has continued
her dance studies with us and now proudly serves
as Mr. Jeff Hendrix’s assistant in his jazz class
every Sunday at 1:30 PM!💫
We can’t wait to see Camilla shine on stage
at our upcoming summer showcase in June 2026!
She will be performing in two piece - one choreographed by the talented Janelle Burgess
and the other by Mr. Jeff Hendrix .hendrix.

🌟✨ What an incredible day! ✨🎶
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Spectrum Dance Center had the honor of performing at the Sacred Artists Dance Collective, hosted by Dance 4 Joy at the beautiful Huntington Beach Library Bandstand and Park. 🎭🌿
Our talented dancers from SDC showcased 3 mesmerizing works featuring choreography from our very own Mr. Gary Sevani, and SDC artistic director, the brilliant Janell Burgess .
We were also thrilled to present a legacy piece
from Jazz Spectrum Dance Company and share the stage
with other amazing SDC in-house companies, including Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre and Bhangra by Nature
The atmosphere was truly magical as audience members enjoyed picnics and lunch in the park, while enjoying
an afternoon of dance ☀️💃🍽️
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who invited us
and collaborated with us
on this spectacular community event!

At Spectrum Dance Center, we proudly host
over a dozen different dance genres,
from classical ballet to vibrant classical Indian dance, and everything in between!
We’re thrilled to be home to over 150 talented students from diverse backgrounds throughout Southern California. Each dancer adds their own unique flair, enriching our studio with culture, creativity, and passion. Together, we embody the spirit of unity and expression that dance fosters.

🎉❤️ A heartfelt thank you to my incredible dance family at Spectrum Dance Center!🥳🎉
On Tuesday, April 14th, I was absolutely overwhelmed
by the warm welcome from all of you.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted with smiling faces, balloons, cake, and a joyous chorus of “Happy Birthday” from our wonderful Tuesday morning dancers! 🎶💃🕺
We kicked off the celebration with an energizing
jazz class, and then continued the festivities
with a delicious cake, and a lovely lunch.
The love didn’t stop there - throughout the day,
I received two beautiful bouquets of flowers from Nahavi and was surprised in the evening
with even more flowers, another cake, thoughtful gifts, champagne, and a more heartfelt birthday songs!
🎂🥂💐
This birthday was nothing short of magical,
and I truly believe that Spectrum Dance Center
is my favorite place, filled with all my favorite people. Thank you all for making my 43rd birthday
so remarkable!
