BIG NEWS for Fall 2026! 🎭🩰✨

We are SO excited to officially announce a new partnership between Collective Dance + Skyline Children’s Theater!

This fall, Skyline Children’s Theater is bringing Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. to Collective Dance in Lake Forest! Skyline specializes in creating musical-theater experiences where kids can sing, dance, act, build confidence, learn performance skills, and experience the magic of putting on a real show.

Skyline will offer Thursday programming at Collective for several ages and experience levels—
from first introductions to musical theater all the way through a full musical ensemble.
Fall programming will run September 24–December 17, culminating in a
December 17 theater performance of The Little Mermaid JR. 🎬✨
FALL 2026 CLASSES - THURSDAYS:
⭐ TOTS | Ages 3–5
3:00–3:45 PM
🐚 JUNIORS | K–2nd Grade
4:00–5:00 PM
🌟 STARS | 2nd–6th Grade
5:15–7:15 PM

This partnership is bigger than just adding another program. Collective believes in connecting people—not closing doors. Dance, theater, music, athletics, art… kids benefit when great local organizations support one another and families have access to MORE experiences, not fewer.
More collaboration. More opportunities. More ways for our kids to discover what they love.

Apparently everyone else got the memo that summer is ending…

We’re choosing to ignore it. 😎✌️

Our littlest dancers are closing out summer with our very own spin on the festival season — PRESCHOOL PALOOZA! 💃🩷

Dancing. Music. Games. Summer chaos. And one last excuse to keep the summer fun going just a littleeee bit longer.

Because when you’re preschool age, back-to-school can wait. 😂☀️

Always be a student. 📚🗽

“Learning is lifelong” sounds cute on a slide… until you realize it’s actually the job description.

What we knew 10 years ago? Moot. ❌
Five years ago? Honestly… some of that too. ❌

The world’s pendulum is constantly swinging, and the dance industry is shifting just as fast. If we’re going to teach the next generation, we better be paying attention.

Our goal? Don’t keep doing something simply because that’s how it’s always been done. Stay two steps ahead—mentally, physically and emotionally.

Learn what’s changing. Understand WHY it’s changing. Keep what still works. Toss what doesn’t.

Listen. Learn. Question. Observe.

You can have years of experience and still have plenty to learn.

Always a teacher. Forever a student. Always on our toes… even if it’s ONE foot. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Never a dull moment.

BACK TO SCHOOL, BABY! ✏️🎒💗

New backpacks. New teachers. New routines. And very soon… NEW DANCE SEASON! 💃🏼⭐️

We hope all of our Collective kids have the BEST first days back—whether you march right through those doors like you owned the place or need a tiny bit of encouragement from Mom. We’re cheering for you either way!

Take these next few weeks to settle in, learn the new routine, make some new friends and have the best start to a new year!!

A new school year.
A new dance year.
A whole lot of growing, learning, laughing and probably a little chaos along the way. 😉

The kids had been waiting ALL YEAR for this day. 🎂🐾 A birthday party for Rue—because around here, we take birthdays very seriously. And apparently mascot birthdays are no exception. 😂

So how did we think outside the box at camp this week?
Craft time became teamwork time. ⭐️

We picked out some of Amazon’s finest pet birthday-party supplies 😂 and turned getting ready for Rue’s big day into a whole project. Learning how to thread, cut, tie, tape, pair up, untangle things without giving up, divide up jobs, stick together, and help a friend when they couldn’t quite figure something out.

Sometimes the lesson is choreography and technique. Sometimes it’s learning how to work with someone else, solve a problem, be patient, take responsibility for your part, and notice when somebody needs a hand.

And then sometimes…the lesson is how to throw a REALLY good Friday lunch party. 🎉

They were excited about this all week, but the best part wasn’t the decorations or the party. It was watching how much love they wanted to give our little mascot. They wanted Rue included in everything—and Rue was VERY willing to participate in the festivities. 😂🐾

Those little moments are worth so much more!! 🩷🖤

This is the culture we work to build at Collective. We want our little stars growing up 5 Points Strong: Loyalty • Respect • Effort • Accountability • Teamwork. ⭐️

A place where they can work hard—some of these kids are here ALL week ALL year long—but where we also make sure they know how to laugh together, help each other, celebrate each other and make some pretty great core memories along the way.

Work hard. Learn together. Take care of your people.

And never underestimate our ability to find a reason for a party. 😉🎂⭐️
