RIP Michael Benjamin

MikaBen; A family man, husband, father, and a PROUD HAITIAN, a legend. The Haitian community was definitely affected and was stuck at a standstill due to this great loss. One thing about me that I will always be proud of is my culture and heritage. I am a Haitian-American. Emphasis on the HAITIAN! Mikaben continuously made sure he did things for his country and his people. Unfortunately it’s sad to see how sometimes as community, Haitians, we often get divided and lose sight that we are one. Despite everything going on in the country he made sure to always represented Haiti and found different ways to help his people. He was and is very important icon to the Haitian culture. It is incredible to see how the Haitian community, we all came together and unite to celebrate and commemorate Mika. It just goes to show how much of an impact he actually left on many. I’ve known and heard about Mikaben since i was a kid and literally grew up listening to his music. Mika, we love you dearly and we will truly miss you. God give your family and loved ones the strength and support they need.🙏🏾 Thank you Mika for all you have done for your community. We are grateful for the 41 years that you were here on earth with us. Rest in Power Haitian King

No lie I got emotional a few times while creating this piece. Crazy how someone you never met just feels like family. He holds a very special place in many hearts.🙏🏾 My way of commemorating an amazing TALENTED person.

So excited to share my experience showcasing my work for the first time with . as an artist it is an important that not only where i showcase my work is accepted however that myself the artist can feel safe and appreciated as well.
