Happy retirement to Dave Hiveley. Dave spent 38 years working for the city of Saint Paul, over 20 of those years maintaining the Saint Paul fire stations. 15 stations ranging anywhere between brand new to 100 years old. Dave, thank you for keeping the A/C cold, the water hot, and the floor drains clean. You have big shoes to fill.

This is one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever made. My cousin Alex, who is like a brother to me, tied the knot last week. He is a very proud American, and also very proud of his Romanian heritage. I thoroughly enjoyed playing around with ideas until the wood, colors and design all worked perfectly. I was even more excited to show him, (seen in this candid photo of my sh*t-eating grin) I couldn’t wait till after the ceremony. I’m really happy for you “Bro”. Congratulations to my newly married cousin. 🇺🇸 🇷🇴

Secret time: I started making these flags after I got out of the Marine Corps. I felt very alone, and making something patriotic reconnected me with a sense of purpose. I love making these flags, not only because it’s therapeutic for me, but they tell a story for each person that buys one. Whether you are a military veteran, first responder, or just someone who’s proud to be an American, everyone has their story and SHOULD be proud to be an American. So, to anyone who has ordered from me, thank you. And thank you for helping me find my happy place while navigating through this little thing called life. And since I’m getting fired up while writing this, I’m gonna go ahead and say it: I don’t know when it became taboo to love the country you live in. I’m 100% for free speech but it makes me very sad and angry that people are being demonized for flying Old Glory, or even singing the National Anthem. Don’t let those as****es make you feel bad for being a proud American. In the words of one of my favorite people, Toby Keith, “Don’t apologize for being patriotic, F*ck ‘em!”

This flag holds a special place in my heart. My old driver, Fritz, finally retired from SPFD - Rescue Squad 1. I can confidently say he was one of the most loved and respected guys on the department. I am really gonna miss him and his charm. His helmet shields from his career are proudly displayed on the Stars and Stripes. Enjoy your retirement Fritzer!!

This 45”x86” BEAST makes a statement in this game room. I’m bursting with patriotism after seeing it on the wall. If you need me I’ll be singing Lee Greenwood at the American Legion.
