The “world’s largest steel dragon” — a 26-foot-tall, 70-foot-long stainless-steel dragon named “Goldspar” — is nearing completion at a warehouse in North Las Vegas, Nevada before being shipped to Wisconsin Dells for the opening of the new medieval-themed Dellshire Resort.

The fire-breathing dragon weighs about 17,000 pounds and was made by metal sculptor Kevin Stone. Goldspar was fabricated entirely by hand over 19 months from over 5,000 sq. ft. of 18g cold rolled sheet metal.

Goldspar will soon be transported in about five trucks to its permanent home in Wisconsin. The dragon will greet visitors at the entrance of the Dellshire Resort, which is set to open on May 10.
