"After the Last Supper" is now open at VA Tech's Armory Gallery.
The gallery is located at 203 Draper Rd. downtown Blacksburg.
The show includes drawings, sculptures, videos, a life sized (22 ft. long) version of da Vinci's Last Supper, and writing on the wall.
It is best described as a 3 year journey – a wandering in, around, through and beyond an idea. I made the last piece for the show just last week and carved some words from a J.R.R. Tolkien poem into the sculpture "Not all who wander are lost".
The show runs from August 5 - September 21.
Visitors are welcome M-F 12 - 5pm and the gallery will be open on Saturdays after students return on Aug. 26 - with hours to be determined.
You're all invited to join me in the gallery for a special evening of viewing the show on Fri. Aug. 9 from 5-7pm.
Parking is free at downtown meters after 5 and the parking lot next to the Armory will also be open and free – its entrance is not on Draper Rd. but on Otay St. around the block from the gallery - the location for the parking lot entrance is: https://goo.gl/maps/Xvkz9X5igJbVFyqT6
An "official" reception is also scheduled for Thur. Sept. 12, 5-7pm
Meanwhile "Out There" – the studio and sculpture trail remains open by appointment for visitors.
Individuals, families, large groups are all welcome - just get in touch by phone, email, text….! www.charliebrouwer.com
