Lake City Area Arts (LCAA) invites you to an unforgettable evening of culture, entertainment, and discovery during
Celebrate World Cultures – Egypt
Saturday, August 29, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
105 W. Center Street, Lake City.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The evening's featured entertainment will be provided by the acclaimed Blue Lotus Dance Company of Minneapolis. Known for its vibrant performances and authentic Egyptian dance styles, Blue Lotus Dance Company brings the beauty, artistry, and energy of Middle Eastern dance to audiences throughout the Midwest.
In addition to the performance, guests will enjoy a sampling of Egyptian-inspired flavors, making this a truly immersive cultural experience.
Reserved seating tickets are $20 in advance and are available at Fresh Market in Lake City or online by clicking here EGYPT TICKETS .
Tickets will also be available at the door for $25.Celebrate World Cultures – Egypt is generously sponsored by the We Invest Fund of the Greater Lake City Community Foundation.

We've got a great free event coming up on Saturday, September 12th.

It's our annual Music Showcase in Patton Park in Lake City. It's a family event including:
- A Classic Car Cruise-in organized by Lakester’s Car Club
- A Community Drum Circle (at 10:00 a.m.) led by Cheri Bunker
- Additional music all day through 7:00 p.m. including Prairie Street Jazz Band, Tony Cuchetti, Steve & Ricky Live, Animalhead, and more to be announced.
- A kids' area all day, and from 1 - 3 there will be free face-painting by The Party Lady and balloons by Alice Harnly.
- Food vendors to include: Kevin & June’ Cheese Curds, Stone’s Famous Concession, and Big River BBQ

Share the day with us at Patton Park - remember to bring your chair and/or a blanket.

We thank the Womans Club of Lake City for sponsoring the event and for Greater Lake City Community Foundation for sponsoring the kids' area.

What a great art exhibit opening! It was a pleasure meeting/reconnecting with each of the artists:
Jennifer Carlson: A local watercolor artist that dabbles in acrylic and gouache.
Cheri Bunker: Explorations of the connection between self, spirit, and the natural world using acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media collage.

August 16th (Sunday) - An afternoon of Piano Music! Thanks to a grant from weInvest365 of Greater Lake City Area Foundation, we are able to take advantage of temporarily having 2 grand piano's in our gallery and offer an afternoon of piano music. Free will donations welcomed.
Prelude: 1:30 - 2:15 The afternoon will begin with a prelude featuring Lisa Wallerich, family, and friends, performing a variety of piano solos and duets.
Dueling Pianos: 2:30 - 3:30 Musicians Jon Davis and Jason Wright will perform an hour of relaxing jazz dueling piano.
Jon Davis - Jon has a bachelor of arts in music (emphasis in piano performance) from Mankato State University, plays piano for a big band in Rochester called Swing Street, frequently plays with D’Sievers jazz combo in various venues, and has been the pianist and/or musical director for over 80 musicals.
Jason Wright - Jason is a Music Teacher and Composer/Arranger of relaxing familiar piano music. Jason’s 6 easy listening piano albums found on all streaming services represent a spiritual connection to the church music he grew up to love. Jason has a Bachelor of Arts in vocal music education from Luther College, has been featured as an O’Neill Brothers musician and editor, previous director of the Park Rapids Classic Chorale, has taught in K-12 music education for more than 20 years publicly and privately, and has been the pianist/musical director for over 10 HS and community musicals.
