One thing about Denmark Acres… we’re always working on a budget! 😂

That means when we want to add something new, we try to get creative and find ways to reuse, recycle, or make things ourselves whenever we can.

Our mining sluice is a perfect example! What started out as an old chicken feed storage container from a retired chicken farm was turned into a working mining sluice with a little help from family and friends—and a whole lot of figuring things out along the way.

Now it’s one of our favorite additions to Denmark Acres!

Our mining bags are filled with gems and minerals from all over the world, including Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Madagascar, plus real fossils from Morocco that are millions of years old. And we’ve learned that mining definitely isn’t just for the kids—the teenagers and adults have just as much fun!

Just goes to show that sometimes you don’t have to buy something new. You just have to look at something old a little differently. ❤️

We can’t wait for y’all to try it this fall at Denmark Acres!

Thank you for all your help deciding what to name our stage! Y’all made this a close one! 😅

Between Facebook and Instagram, The Porch got 45 votes and The Pickin’ Porch got 43!

Since it was so close, we came up with a little compromise. We decided to call it “The Porch” and add the guitar to the sign to represent the music that will be played there. 🎸

We can’t wait to get the sign made and hung up on The Porch! We’ll be sure to show y’all how it turns out!

Denmark Acres is our little Old West town tucked away on 30 acres in North Florida, created as a place for families to slow down, have a little fun and make some good memories together. 🤠

Each fall, we open the gates for our annual Fall Festival with hayrides, mazes, animals, gem mining, yard games, food, live music and plenty of Old West fun for the whole family.
