WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS LIST? 🎨 I don't agree with all that's written but I appreciate it's overall message.

IS IT JUST ME . . . ? This is "art" by Cy Twombly who became rich and famous due to being promoted by New York art critics. I have searched through much of his work and find no evidence of any artistic talent (drawing, composition, etc.) deserving of the term artist -- and no criticism.

When I studied Art we were taught basic artistic skills as well as art history. We drew, painted, and made sculpture. A large part of our development as artists was the value of criticism -- something greatly lacking in today's art world. I see a lot of pathetically poor art posted online receiving only positive responses (if any). This only encourages mediocracy incompetence.

THERE NEEDS TO BE A PLACE FOR VALID CRITICISM WHEREVER THERE IS ART.

"IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE . . . ." should not apply to the visual arts.

I spend a lot of time online looking at art and, though most of what I see is good, there's way too much poor quality work being posted without any criticism. Valid informed criticism is a vital part of artistic development.

Starting now I plan to offer criticism where and when needed.
